Special Notices to Members:  

  • We are moving our website and newsletter to a new internet platform.  This should not affect you receiving this newsletter weekly as we will transfer your current email address to the new site.  Our website address WILL change  and you will be given the new address in the newsletter, probably next week. 
  • We’re starting to get campaign material into the headquarters from candidates. Stop by to pick up yard signs and information about our local, state and federal candidates.  Our OPEN hours are only Tue + Thur from 9 – 1PM.  Call for appointment outside these hours (828.802.1158).
  • We are likely to have 2022 candidates attend our weekly Thursday meetings in the weeks ahead. Many of them were unable to make our convention due to conflicts with other conventions scheduled the same day.  We may have some advance notice, but perhaps not.  If we do, we will provide their names in the EVENTS section below.
EVENTS

Thu, Mar 31  6:00PM   GOP / Patriot Member Meeting.  Dinner at 6PM.  Our guest speaker will be Tony Dale, a Polk County resident and active member of the Polk GOP.  Tony will speak about the kind of financial planning for retirement that makes the most sense with the volatile conditions of the world. Come join us.  Bring a side dish if you can.

Tony and the Commonsense Retirement team focus on guaranteed income solutions, estate planning and Social Security strategies. Tony views retirement as a chance to advance, not only financially, but also spiritually, intellectually, and physically. Tony Dale has spent more than 20 years helping clients strategize for retirement and prepare wisely. Sat, Apr 2,  8:00AM.   District 11 NCGOP Convention.  Closed to the public!  Only county convention delegates are eligible to attend.  Following the convention, there will be a congressional candidate forum from 11:30 – 1:00PM.  More information is available here.

Mon, Apr 11, 4:30PM  District 11 Congressional Debate.  All candidates competing for this congressional seat will likely be at this event.  Click here for more detail and to RSVP your attendance.

Sat, Apr 23,  8:30 – 11:30AM.  Candidate Meet and Greet BreakfastThe Polk GOP is extending invites to local, state and federal primary candidates to come and have breakfast with constituents of Polk County.  Location:  Sarah Ernst Darnall Bldg, 33 S. Peak St, Columbus NC.  This is a bit of fundraiser also and a pancake and egg breakfast will be offered for a donation of $7.00.

Sat, Apr 30, 11:30 – 2:00PM.  Candidate Meet and Greet Lunch  The Polk GOP is extending invites to local, state and federal primary candidates to come and have lunch with constituents of Polk County.  Location:  Sarah Ernst Darnall Bldg, 33 S. Peak St, Columbus NC.  This is a bit of fundraiser also and grilled hotdog and hamburgers will be offered for lunch for a donation of $7.00.

As we receive information about the candidates running for office this year, we will attempt to publish their events or visits to our area the best we can.  Below you’ll find what we know at this time.  I encourage all GOP candidates running for local, state and national office, to let us know about your campaign activities in the area and we’ll do our best to help advertise them in our newsletter.
