Praise GOD for the overturning of Roe v Wade.

On the night of June 24, North Carolina Republican Party offices in Raleigh were vandalized with threats of violence following the U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade. This act was followed by numerous threats over the weekend.

It is unfortunate and unacceptable that left-wing activists resort to vandalism, destruction of property, and threats of violence in response to any political views they disagree with.

The NCGOP calls on Democratic leaders to denounce these and all threats of violence or illegal activity in response to the Supreme Court ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Woe is me for remaining silent in the face of evil….

Activism and the Establishment

Since at least the time of the Greek city states, leaders who served at the pleasure of their citizenry have tried to keep a close eye on the needs, wants and moods of the people and the forces and trends which can affect them. In recent years, a lucrative industry has been built on providing the information that politicians often base their decisions and pronouncements on. But we only need to look at the election of Donald Trump to the Presidency in 2016 to know that the prognosticators are not always accurate. In fact, they are often wildly inaccurate.

There is much discussion on how unaffiliated voters will vote in a particular election. The demographics of the unaffiliated voters are not consistent across the country. Recently, there has been a trend for young and/or first-time registrants to register as unaffiliated. This can make it more difficult to predict how these voters will cast their votes. This may be due to disillusionment with the established parties or a break from the traditional party affiliations of their parents. Whatever weight these theories may carry, we believe that recent events including the effect of President Trump on politics and the country, and the present state of the country outweigh these other factors. Results from the North Carolina primary election and other elections e.g., in Virginia and Georgia indicate that the issues are driving more voters to the polls and more unaffiliated voters to vote Republican. Even before the Biden administration took power, we have seen people organizing to protest vaccine mandates, the policies of local school boards and the leftist ideology which is permeating academia and now the workplace. The disastrous policies of the Biden administration have damaged the economy, opened our borders to a burdensome wave of illegal immigrants, exacerbated the crime and drug problems and harmed our national security.

As all politics is local, it is illustrative to examine the demographics and previous voting results In Polk County to plan how our party will address the electorate and get out the vote for Republican candidates. On election day in 2018, there were 5,671 registered Republicans, 4,394 Democrats and 6,020 unaffiliated. As of today, those numbers are: 6,014 Republicans, 3,716 Democrats and 6,354 Unaffiliated. That means that since that election in 2018, the Democrats have lost 678 registered voters while Republicans have gained 343. In 2018, Republicans had an advantage of 1,277 registered voters; now that advantage is 2,298. Unaffiliated registration has increased by 334 over the same period. Some have tried to spin these numbers to push a passive agenda for the Republican Party as opposed to an active agenda so as not to antagonize unaffiliated voters. We can put the lie to this spin quite easily: in the most recent primary election, Democrats (23% of registered voters) received 27.5% of primary votes; Republicans (37% of registered voters) received 72.4% of primary votes. Proof that a large majority of unaffiliated voters in Polk County requested Republican primary ballots. This same trend was true across North Carolina with 63% of unaffiliated voters asking for Republican primary ballots.

These primary election results and other results from around the country indicate, we believe, that Republican and Unaffiliated voters are more likely to vote for Republican candidates, especially if those candidates are activist, pro-parents rights, pro-life, pro-2nd amendment conservatives. We are opposed to the Old Guard: Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney, and Liz Cheney. We support Republicans in the mold of President Trump and Governor DeSantis and the activists who fought for decades for our right to life and our 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms. These are the leaders who are willing to stand up to the Washington establishment and their cronies in media, the Chamber of Commerce, and the corporate oligarchy. We will stand and fight to take back the country we love, and we welcome all others who love this country to join us in this fight.
